Shift

This film documents life of coma patients over a two year span at the Reut medical center in Tel Aviv.  Because modern medicince and technology enables these patients to live for many years, “Shift” raises crucial ethical dilemmas regarding thet underlying social and oral codes intended on preserving human life. 

Sharsheret Ha-Zikaron

In the villages of Stolin and Horoduk, almost all the Jews were murdered by the Nazis in 1941-42 and buried in mass graves. The story of the two villages between the world wars is woven in with that of a 100-man delegation of second and third generation survivors.

Purim 1996. 27 year old Meital was severly wounded in a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv. Nine years later she decides to go through fertility treatments and have a child on her own.

Turbulence

After 26 years of a life sentence for the rape and murder of a Jewish girl in 1982, bedouin Kamal Subhi contacts Ariel Livneh, a retired secret services agent and criminologist, asking him to re-open his file.  Ariel dives in, wipes the dust off of old documents, digs through archives, makes notes, locates police officers, and exaimes every detail, leading him after 3 years to appeal for Kamal’s release.

Under the Rug

Maya Link, 84, was born in Germany and immigrated to Israel.  The death of her son 40 years ago raises forbidden questions about the mother’s love for her children.
