Doron Paz

Director, The Ring

As the third generation of film and theater directors in their family, Yoav and Doron Paz began working in the film industry at an early age. The brothers’ first critically acclaimed film, PHOBIDILIA (2010), premiered at the Toronto and Berlin Film Festivals, establishing them as one of the leading edgy young voices in contemporary Israeli cinema. Their second film, JERUZALEM (2015), was an international horror hit, ranked among the 10 scariest films on NETFLIX in 2017, and reached No. 2 on the U.S. Apple charts. Their third film, THE GOLEM (2019), was named one of the top 10 horror movies of 2019 by Rotten Tomatoes and was selected by The New York Times as one of the best horror films on NETFLIX. The brothers’ fourth film, PLAN A, starring August Diehl (Inglourious Basterds) and Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049, See), was released in 2022. Their WWII box office hit, THE RING, released in 2024, quickly became the third most-watched Israeli film of the decade. The brothers are currently shooting an eight-episode TV series for Keshet TV in South America.
