Accessing virtual film events:
Are the virtual screenings available to users located outside the US?
No. Due to screening rights restrictions, streamed films and conversations will only be accessible to people located within the US territories.
How will I receive access to the film and Q+A after purchasing a ticket?
You will receive an email link with links and instructions to access the film up to 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time. The film will only become available starting at the scheduled start time. If you purchased your ticket after June 7, 7PM, the access information for your event will be at the bottom of your confirmation email from Eventbrite.
I won’t be able to watch the film at the scheduled start time.
Is there a way for me to still watch the film?
Yes. The streaming links to the films will be available for 24 hours after the initial start time, unless clarified otherwise in your confirmation email. Q+As will be recorded so that they are available for those who cannot join them live.
Will there be a Q+A with filmmakers after the films?
There will be a live moderated Q+A with filmmakers via Zoom (separate access link from film) after the first play of the film concludes. Audiences will be able to submit questions during the Q+A which will be selected by the moderator. Recorded versions of the Q+A will be available as well on our YouTube channel the following day.
How will I be able to watch the films?
After registering to a screening, you will receive an email with links to access the film and the Q+A for each film. The films will be streamed via JW Player which will open on an external link, accessible through PC, MAC, iPhone and Android. If you have a smart TV or casting abilities – you can share the screen of your computer of smartphone to your TV.
Can I share the screening link with others?
No. Links to films are only for the individual who purchased a ticket. You may not forward or share the link with others.
How to use Zoom for live Q+As:
Joining a Zoom Q+A:
Q+As will take place via Zoom. We recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance onto your computer or smartphone. You can create an account to log-in, but it is not a requirement.
Conversations will become live on the scheduled Q&A start time.
At the scheduled start time, click on the access link sent in the email on the day of the event, enter your email and full name, and the conversation will automatically start once all panelists are ready.
Q+A etiquette:
Please engage respectfully. Any inappropriate or offensive conduct or comments during the Q&A may cause you to be removed from the Q&A session by our system administrator.
Asking questions during Q&A
The moderator will choose which questions to direct to the panelists based on relevance and time restrictions. We do not guarantee all or questions will be answered, or the order in which they are answered.
If your question is addressed to a specific panelists, please mention who in the beginning of your question.
Please keep questions short and concise.
Please only submit one question. Instructions on how to submit questions will be given at the beginning of each live event.
