The Barbeque People

Directed by: Yossi Madmoni, David Ofek
102 Minutes, 2003

The Ida family is celebrating Israel’s 40th independence Day. Around the barbeque, a story of two generations unfolds taking us from Iraq, where the parents knew their first loves and losses, to New York where their children get entangled in an awkward murder. The strings of this strange encounter lead back to the Mediterranean port city of Ashdod where the family is trying to come to terms with its past and carve its way into the future.
