Mihal Brezis, together with her partner Oded Binnun, are an Academy Award-nominated filmmaking duo. Their short film AYA, which serves as the basis for Dead Language, was nominated for an OscarĀ® and set a precedent when it was released theatrically as a short for commercial screenings, to audience and critical success. Mihal and Oded have previously directed the international feature film “The Etruscan Smile”, starring Emmy Award-winning actor Brian Cox (Succession) and Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction). The film has garnered multiple awards and was released in the US and internationally in 2020. Their early works include the short films “Sabbath Entertainment”, “Tuesday’s Women,” and “Lost Paradise”, which have garnered over 40 international awards in festivals worldwide.
