Narrated by a 15-year old girl, Salma, based on a real life survivor of honour killing, ‘Deadly Honour’ documents multiple murders and attempted murders of young women in the Israeli city of Ramle. Juarish is a closed neighborhood in Ramle where young girls grow up in fear anticipating their turn to face the killers. This fear is sealed with a code of silence – no one talks about the murders, no one goes to court. But the status quo changed one day when the body of a murdered woman was found in a disused well in the forest.

Gole sangam is the stone flower in Farsi. The flower that can bloom only from the stone (cyclamen). The film follows two elderly Jewish women, Ilanit and Naima, who immigrated from Iran to Israel 50 years ago and live in a slum. Married at the tender ages of 12-16, they moved from the dominated homes of their parents to those of their husbands. Ilanit lived with a husband who humiliated and beat her but still she took care of him when he became sick. Naima has good relations with her husband, surrounded with her children and grandchildren, but has always served them and fulfilled their wishes and dreams. Now, 70 years old, they reflect on the choices they have made and the choices they were forced to make.

Sarit, the director, an Israeli-born Iranian Jew, 30 years old and unmarried is trying to find through the past of Ilanit and Naima some answers about the future of her relations.

The film raises questions about love, relations, femininity and dreams.

Director Menachem Leibi Rother, 35, abandoned ultra-Orthodox life as a young man.  Leibi wants to start a family with his girlfriend, but before he can settle down, he must come to terms with the sexual abuse he suffered in an ultra-Orthodox boarding school. He plans to present his abuser with the chronicle of his life on film to conront him with the enormous damage he caused.

Sivan, a 22 year old kibbutznik struggles with memories of her father who sexually abused her. The present intermingles with the story of the past: the institutions which lacked the sensitivity to deal with her trauma, the silence and impenetrability of the kibbutz, the indifference of the police and the legal system and the family that doesn’t know how to cope. After seeking professional help, Sivan decides to sue her father and take a stand against him for the first time.

Margalit (Gila Almagor) is a prostitute with one child, and she wants another one. A man-hater, she doesn’t want a husband, just another child. At this point she is an independent woman who works without a pimp and who “owns” a section of a road outside of Tel Aviv. There, she offers her services to the truck drivers who get their gas nearby. Among her clients she finds one handsome enough to suit her and goes to the kibbutz where he lives to induce him to impregnate her, which he does. While living with her mother in semi-retirement during her pregnancy, she goes out with some lowlife bums she knows who quite literally take her to Sodom and rape her. The movie continues her story quite a bit beyond these episodes.
