Set during the 1943 German occupation of Thessaloniki, Cloudy Sunday tells a story of forbidden love between a Christian boy and Jewish girl. The star-crossed lovers, Giorgos and Estrea, struggle to overcome the prejudice and persecution of the Jewish community. As brutalities increase, prolific composer Vassilis Tsitsanis is inspired to write some of his most memorable songs, most notably the heartbreaking and haunting “Cloudy Sunday.”
