Shira Haas and Ruthy Pribar in Conversation about Asia

Tuesday Jun 8, 2021 | 7:00 PM | Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan

Join us for an intimate conversation with Shira Haas and Ruthy Pribar in person on the JCC rooftop.

Golden Globe nominee Shira Haas has taken the international film industry by storm. From Shtisel to Unorthodox, Shira has become Israel’s most praised actress. Ruthy Pribar, director of Asia, won the Nora Ephron Award at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival for her direction of the film. Asia earned 9 Israeli Academy Awards including a Best Actress win for Haas. Pribar’s film was also Israel’s foreign film submission to the Oscars. In Asia, Haas stars as a Russian émigré to Israel, navigating her teenage years with her single mother (Alena Yiv), burdened by an illness that makes all of her decisions infinitely more poignant.
